Adopt-a-Ship 2017 Partners Recognized

PTC and PTC-CSJ Foundation recently hosted recognition ceremonies for five PTC Principals, four Schools and 20 teachers who participated in Adopt-a-Ship (AAS) Project for SY 2017-2018.

The AAS Project aims to introduce shipping and its benefits to Grades 4-6 pupils through weekly email exchanges between Captains and partner-teachers. The pupils also keep track of their adopted ship on a big world map.

International Maritime Organization (IMO)’s Maritime Ambassador George Hoyt and officers from PTC and PTC-CSJ presented Certificates of Appreciation to the five PTC Principals – Seaspan, Grindrod, Exmar, Hydroussa and TechnipFMC – and their respective Ships (total: 19).

In another ceremony, PTC-CSJ President Mrs. Carla S. Limcaoco also presented Certificates of Appreciation to the four School Principals and 20 teachers.

A total of 97 classes with an average of 45 pupils per class with a total of 4,540 pupils participated in AAS 2017.
