PTC-CSJ Adopts Fourth School in Muntinlupa

Effective SY 2017-2018, PTC-CSJ Foundation has adopted Muntinlupa Elementary School as its fourth partner-school, together with Bayanan Elementary School-Main, Lakeview Integrated School and Sucat Elementary School Main. All four are public schools in Muntinlupa City.

Since 2010, the Foundation has been implementing in Muntinlupa its flagship Growing Good to Great Kids or 3G Program that aims to improve the quality and outcomes of basic education.

For the current school year, the 3G Program’s support interventions to the four schools include: feeding a nutritious lunch to 152 undernourished Grade 1 pupils, learning enrichment activities including a summer Reading Camp to improve pupils’ reading skills, sports development through baseball, and training for teachers and parents.

The four schools are also part of Adopt-a-Ship (AAS) Project’s pilot run for 5 weeks in early 2017 and the 10-week full implementation from September-December 2017. AAS aims to develop awareness and knowledge about shipping and its benefits to society among Grades 4-6 students.

The Captain and his partner-teacher have weekly email exchanges which the teacher integrates in his/ her lessons and shared with pupils. Students keep track of their adopted ship’s movements on a big world map.
