PTC-CSJ Wraps Up 2015 with 3G Program Activities

PTC-CSJ Foundation, in partnership with Synergeia Foundation, had completed the remaining activities for its Growing to Great Kids or 3G Program with Bayanan Elementary School-Main (BESM) and Lakeview Elementary School (LES) during the last few months of 2015.  

On Sept. 19, 2015, almost 200 parents of Grade 1 pupils in the two Schools participated in a half-day session on Proper Nutrition and Hygiene with Dr. Rey Aquino as Resource Speaker.  The session complemented 3G’s nutrition enhancement/feeding for malnourished pupils of BESM and LES.

The teachers of the two Schools likewise underwent two training sessions.  “Rekindling the Joy of Teaching” was attended by all BESM and LES teachers, while “Effective Teaching of Reading” benefited all Kinder to Grade 2 teachers only.  Both training programs were held at Ateneo Professional Schools in Rockwell Center, Makati City from Oct. 28-30.  
The Annual Reading Festival held on Nov. 12 aimed to enhance the joy of reading among students.  Teachers of the two Schools organized various interactive activities participated by all Grade 2 pupils.

Lastly, around 400 Grade 2 pupils of BESM and LES had fun exploring Museo Pambata’s Mobile Library and its 300 children’s books when the van visited LES last Nov. 28.  The half-day program per School included storytelling and arts and crafts activities conducted by Museo Pambata staff.
