The PTC-CSJ Foundation kicked off SY 2014-2015 with the expansion of its flagship program, Growing Good to Great Kids or 3G Program, to another school in Muntinlupa City. Lakeview Elementary School (LES) joins Bayanan Elementary School-Main (BESM) as the Foundation’s beneficiary schools.

The 3G Program is a holistic program that has four components: nutrition enhancement, learning enrichment in arts and reading, sports development through baseball, and training for parents and teachers.

In July 2014, the two Schools identified a total of 168 undernourished Grades 1 and 2 pupils. These pupils have since been fed a nutritious lunch every school day.

Based on the monitoring of the pupils’ heights and weights in October, 89% of them have already achieved “normal” nutritional status. Feeding will continue until classes end in March 2015, at which time the target of 100% normal nutritional status for all covered pupils is expected to be reached.

As part of learning enrichment, a Reading Festival was organized in November by BESM and LES for almost 2,000 Grades 1 and 2 pupils. The annual Reading Festival aims to encourage love for reading among students.
