Muntinlupa Teachers Undergo Training
01 July 2017
In line with its thrust to improve the quality and outcomes of basic education, PTC-CSJ Foundation organized three training sessions for Muntinlupa teachers during the summer break.

The Reading Camp Refresher Course trained 100 Kinder to Grade 3 teachers last April on how to teach reading more effectively especially among slow and non-readers. The training, implemented with Synergeia Foundation, proved effective given the very good post-test results among Reading Camp 2017 participants.

In May 2017, 85 Kinder to Grade 6 teachers were trained by WWF-Philippines on Environmental Education focused on Climate Change, Biodiversity, Waste Management and Energy. Lastly, 83 Math teachers learned Teaching interventions in Math for Non-Numerates last May, also in partnership with Synergeia Foundation.

All the teachers were from PTC-CSJ Foundation’s four partner-schools in Muntinlupa: Bayanan Elementary School-Main (BESM), Lakeview Elementary School (LES), Sucat Elementary School-Main (SESM) and Muntinlupa Elementary School (MES).

Training for teachers, along with nutrition enhancement, learning enrichment in arts and reading, sports development thru baseball, and training for parents, are all part of the Foundation’s flagship Growing Good to Great Kids or 3G Program, implemented in four Muntinlupa public elementary schools.
