Muntinlupa’s Young Parents Learn about the First 1000 Days
October 24, 2024
On October 10, 2024, 100 young parents of Muntinlupa, mostly mothers, learned about the First 1000 Days which refers to a child's life from conception until he/she reaches two years of age (24 months). This is the time when the child’s brain, body and immune system grow and develop significantly.

Organized by PTC-CSJ Foundation in partnership with Synergeia Foundation, the workshop emphasized the importance of the First 1000 Days in supporting the health and well-being of mothers and children.

The training was facilitated by nutritionist Ms. Reizl Marie Rubio-Laude and midwife Ms. Ninfa Resuena, who focused on good nutrition and maternal care during the first 1000 days of life and said that “During pregnancy, the mother’s health, nutrition and stress levels can have an effect on the baby's future.”

The workshop concluded with an open forum, enabling the participants to ask questions and share their experiences.

The First 1000 Days Training supports PTC-CSJ’s Growing Good to Great Kids or 3G Program which includes nutrition enhancement/feeding for malnourished students in Muntinlupa’s 12 public elementary schools.

This initiative plays a key role in strengthening community support for young mothers, ensuring their children to grow up with the best possible start.
