VeggiEskwela Training Successfully Completed

PTC-CSJ Foundation and East-West Seed Foundation (EWSF) successfully completed the VeggiEskwela Trainers’ Training with 52 participant-trainers from PTC-CSJ’s 13 partner schools in Muntinlupa City.

Held online for five Wednesdays from April-May, the training featured 12 webinars through which participants learned and were given assignments to immediately apply such concepts as container gardening, soil preparation, composting, pest and disease management, etc.

As Jay Evano said, a participant and teacher from Lakeview Integrated School, “Many of us initially did it out of interest as a hobby. But we realized that we needed to be methodical; the training gave us the technical know-how on how to go about it.”

VeggiEskwela aims to enhance food security through vegetable production at home and in schools using available backyard spaces and repurposed containers.
