On February 21, 28 and March 7, thirty (30) Kindergarten teachers from six public elementary schools in Muntinlupa participated actively in a comprehensive three-day workshop to equip them with the knowledge, skills and tools to implement the Alpabasa Reading Program effectively.

The Alpabasa Program, developed by Read to Achieve Foundation Philippines, Inc. (RAFPI), is a “play-based and systematic Filipino reading program designed to make early reading and writing fun, engaging, and effective for young learners”. The program prepares Kinder learners to become readers by the time they enter Grade 1.

The PTC-CSJ Foundation has partnered with RAFPI to implement the Alpabasa Program in Muntinlupa’s three schools with a total of 24 Kinder teachers. On the other hand, RAFPI and another donor will support the remaining six teachers from three schools.

On the last day of the Kinder Teachers’ Training, PTC-CSJ’s President, Mrs. Carla S. Limcaoco, gave an inspiring message highlighting the Kinder teachers’ critical role in their young learners’ wholistic development.
