The PTC-CSJ Foundation is supporting the Department of Education’s pilot implementation of the National Learning Camp (NLC), a voluntary recovery program designed to address learning losses arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. The pilot run, which began on July 24, 2023, benefits Kinder to Grade 12 learners in public schools nationwide.

In Muntinlupa City, PTC-CSJ has integrated its annual Reading Camp into the NLC. To encourage participation and address nutritional needs, the Foundation partnered with the Shining Light Foundation (SLF) to provide nutritious snacks to 1,120 Grades 2 and 3 learners across 12 partner public elementary schools.

The feeding component serves as an incentive for learners to stay engaged with the recovery program.

Since 2015, PTC-CSJ has implemented remedial reading interventions for slow and non-readers. The integration with NLC 2023 ensures that students receive both the academic support and the nutritional sustenance required for effective learning during their summer break.
