PTC-CSJ Foundation, in partnership with Synergeia Foundation, the DepEd-Muntinlupa Schools Division Office, and its 12 partner public elementary schools, successfully concluded Reading Camp (RC) 2022. The program was implemented face-to-face for seven days from July 25 to August 2, 2022.

Reading Camp 2022 is a remedial reading program that integrates a feeding component to support student health alongside academic growth. This year's camp benefited 580 Grades 1-6 learners who were identified as slow or non-readers, with 97% of participants coming from Grades 1 to 3.

The program yielded significant results, as pre- and post-test scores showed a marked improvement in reading skills across all grade levels. Average scores increased from 12 (59%) to 16 (78%) out of a total of 20 points. Notably, Grade 1 learners showed the highest improvement with a 62% percentage change.

Analysis of the results further proved that a lower teacher-to-learner ratio contributed significantly to better outcomes. Schools that maintained a ratio lower than the prescribed 1:10 saw the highest percentage changes in student performance.

Personalized attention from teachers led to better learning outcomes.

Reading Camp 2022 is a key pillar of PTC-CSJ Foundation’s flagship education program, Growing Good to Great Kids (3G), which continues to strive for better education outcomes for young learners in Muntinlupa City.
