PTC-CSJ Foundation and East-West Seed Foundation (EWSF) successfully completed the VeggiEskwela Trainers’ Training with 52 participant-trainers from 13 partner schools in Muntinlupa City.

Held online for five Wednesdays from April to May, the training featured 12 webinars. Through these sessions, participants learned and were given assignments to immediately apply concepts such as container gardening, soil preparation, composting, and pest and disease management.

Nursery Rehabilitation

Rehabilitating school nurseries with protective screens and repaired platforms.

As Jay Evano, a participant and teacher from Lakeview Integrated School, said, “Many of us initially did it out of interest as a hobby. But we realized that we needed to be methodical; the training gave us the technical know-how on how to go about it.”

School Vegetable Garden

School gardens utilize repurposed tires to maximize food production in small spaces.

VeggiEskwela aims to enhance food security through vegetable production at home and in schools using available backyard spaces and repurposed containers. The program empowers educators to become sustainable gardening leaders in their respective communities.
