PTC-CSJ Foundation and WWF-Philippines have renewed their partnership this year to launch the latest Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Project. The project is designed to empower schools and communities to act towards a sustainable future by balancing the three critical pillars: the economy, society, and the environment.
The project recently trained 100 teachers from PTC-CSJ’s 10 public elementary school partners in Muntinlupa City. These virtual sessions addressed the specific sustainability challenges exposed by the pandemic, creating vital links between COVID-19 and the three pillars of sustainability.
Over 1,400 Grade 5 learners engaged in interactive sessions to explore climate change integration.
During the training, the WWF ESD team provided teachers with comprehensive materials, guides, and tips on integrating climate change issues into their standard lesson plans. To reach the youth directly, the project also organized online sessions for 1,468 Grade 5 students. These one-hour interactive sessions were held via Zoom, typically hosting two schools per session to maximize engagement and collaborative learning.
