The PTC-CSJ Foundation recently donated tablets to 300 public elementary students in Muntinlupa City, providing them with essential access to online learning materials during the global pandemic.
This donation directly supports the Department of Education's (DepEd) push for "blended learning." This instructional model utilizes a combination of online platforms, printed modules, and television or radio broadcasts to ensure educational continuity while schools remain closed for in-person classes.
Three hundred outstanding students from Grades 5 and 6 were selected as recipients. These learners were identified from marginalized families who previously had no access to digital gadgets. By providing one tablet per household, it is estimated that 869 total students from PTC-CSJ’s 10 public school partners are benefiting, as siblings in grade school share the devices.
This initiative was made possible through the generous financial support of Philippine Transmarine Carriers, Inc. (PTC) and Swedish partner Wallenius Marine AB. Their contribution helps ensure that deserving students are not left behind as the education system transitions to digital-first methodologies.
