In line with its commitment to improve the quality and outcomes of basic education, PTC-CSJ Foundation organized three major training sessions for Muntinlupa educators during the 2017 summer break. These sessions are part of the Foundation’s flagship Growing Good to Great Kids (3G) Program.

In April, 100 Kindergarten to Grade 3 teachers participated in a Reading Camp Refresher Course. Implemented in partnership with Synergeia Foundation, the course focused on effective methodologies for teaching reading to slow and non-readers, leading to significant improvements in subsequent student performance.

The training schedule continued in May with two additional specialized sessions:

  • Environmental Education: 85 teachers from Kinder to Grade 6 were trained by WWF-Philippines on topics including Climate Change, Biodiversity, Waste Management, and Energy.
  • Mathematics Intervention: 83 Math teachers underwent training on teaching interventions for non-numerates, also in partnership with Synergeia Foundation.

All participants were from the Foundation’s four partner-schools in Muntinlupa: Bayanan Elementary School-Main, Lakeview Integrated School, Sucat Elementary School-Main, and Muntinlupa Elementary School. Training sessions for educators remain a critical pillar of the 3G Program alongside nutrition enhancement, arts and reading enrichment, sports, and parent training.
