The Adopt-a-Ship (AAS) Project reached a milestone as its first female Chief Officer (CO), Jasmin Labarda of TechnipFMC, visited Bayanan Elementary School-Main (BESM) in Muntinlupa City on November 29, 2017.

CO Labarda met with Grade 5 Social Studies students who have "adopted" her ship, the Deep Blue. Through the AAS program, these students have been corresponding with her via weekly emails, allowing them to learn about global trade and seafaring directly from a professional at sea.

Interactive classroom discussion

Interactive sessions help integrate maritime concepts into the curriculum.

The AAS Project aims to inspire the next generation of maritime professionals by integrating shipping-related concepts into standard subjects like Math, Science, and English. For the current school year, the project has reached 4,540 students across four public schools in Muntinlupa.

AAS encourages students to explore maritime careers through direct engagement with ship officers.

Managed by the PTC-CSJ Foundation in partnership with the IMO, InterManager, and PTC, the AAS project utilizes 19 assigned ships from various shipping companies to foster a deeper understanding of the maritime industry's role in the world.
