Over 150 parents from partner-schools gather at Bayanan Elementary School-Main for the nutrition training session.

Recognizing that parents play a critical role in their children’s overall development and well-being, helping them better perform this role has always been a core component of PTC-CSJ Foundation’s Growing Good to Great Kids (3G) Program.

On October 22, 2016, more than 150 parents from the 3G Program's three partner-schools in Muntinlupa—Bayanan Elementary School-Main, Lakeview Integrated School, and Sucat Elementary School—attended a half-day training session on nutrition. Organized in partnership with Synergeia Foundation, the workshop covered topics including the "First 1000 Days," good health, and proper nutrition.

Resource Persons and Participants

Young mothers represented the majority of the session's participants.

Muntinlupa City’s Nutritionist, Mrs. Rhonda Rabino, served as the resource person. She explained that the "first 1000 days of life"—from conception until a child's second birthday—is globally recognized as the "golden window of opportunity" for interventions to achieve a child’s maximum potential growth.

The 3G Program continues to implement a holistic approach to public education in Muntinlupa, combining nutrition enhancement and feeding with learning enrichment in arts and reading, sports development through baseball, and specialized training for both teachers and parents.
