From March 14 to 17, 2016, more than 400 students of the Muntinlupa Alternative Learning System (ALS) participated in a series of one-day seminars on financial literacy. The sessions were organized by the PTC-CSJ Foundation in partnership with Social Enterprise Development Partnerships, Inc. (SEDPI).

The curriculum focused on practical financial management concepts tailored to the actual situations of the participants. Key topics included budgeting made easy, creating a savings plan, debt management, and understanding the emotions that can prevent personal financial success.

The Alternative Learning System (ALS) serves as a parallel learning system in the Philippines, providing a practical substitute for those who cannot access formal education. Since many of the trainees are already earning income from various sources, they found the seminars highly applicable to their current conditions.

Financial literacy remains one of the main program thrusts of the PTC-CSJ Foundation. Partnering with SEDPI since 2012, the Foundation continues to empower communities through education on financial independence and security.
